OrangeGap exists to close the gap between what students need and who has it. One platform for buying and selling with people you can trust, discovering campus events, and finding jobs, internships, bursaries and vacation work - all built around your specific campus and faculty.
OrangeGap started at NWU, built by a student who saw how scattered campus life had become - WhatsApp groups for selling textbooks, Facebook groups for events, noticeboards for jobs, none of it connected or verified. OrangeGap brings all of it into one trusted, campus-first platform.

Yes. Signing up, browsing, posting an event and posting an opportunity are free. Listing an item is free, and your Profile shows what you will receive for each sale. Advertising in the Sponsored section costs R10 a week.
Buyers pay through PayFast, so card details never touch OrangeGap. The money reaches OrangeGap first, and the seller is paid out once the order is sorted.
We review every listing before it appears. We aim to review new listings within 24 hours.
OrangeGap is currently built for students at NWU Potchefstroom. Anyone can sign up with an email address, and you confirm your email once when you register.
Use the Report button on the listing and tell us what is wrong. The OrangeGap team reviews every report.

OrangeGap is a marketplace and listings platform for students, currently built for NWU Potchefstroom. You must give accurate information when you sign up and when you list an item, event or opportunity.
Posting a marketplace listing is free. The price shown to buyers includes a service margin that OrangeGap keeps; your Profile shows the amount you will receive for each sale. Advertising in the Sponsored section is a paid, optional feature.
You confirm that you lawfully own anything you list, and that it is legal to sell. OrangeGap may ask for evidence of ownership and can remove a listing at any time, including while a report is reviewed.
Payments are processed by PayFast. OrangeGap does not see or store your card details. Funds are held by OrangeGap and paid out to sellers once an order is confirmed.
For orders placed through checkout, OrangeGap collects the item from the seller and delivers it to the buyer. Sellers must have the item ready and accurately described for collection; buyers should check the item on delivery and report any problem straight away.
OrangeGap takes reasonable care of an item while it is being collected and delivered, but is not liable for pre-existing damage, wear the seller failed to disclose, or delays outside our control, to the extent allowed by South African law. Any item exchanged directly between users outside of checkout is a private arrangement between them, and OrangeGap is not a party to it.
We may update these terms as OrangeGap develops. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version.

Your email address, university and campus, your delivery address and phone number if you buy something, and the listings, photos, events and messages you post.
To run your account, show your listings, deliver orders and keep the platform safe. We do not sell your personal information.
Card and bank details are entered on PayFast's own page. OrangeGap never sees or stores them.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It uses cookies and does not identify you by name.
Your data is stored with Supabase. Passwords are hashed, and access rules stop users reading each other's private data.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information at any time. Contact the OrangeGap team through the details on our social pages.
